Almost done!!!

Mighty","Sluggo" and "Go-go"-cell phone fury:

Me at the finish line (well not quite):

The pre-race meeting went well. Water temp on race AM is suppose to be 58 degrees! A heat wave! Sounds like there is plenty of stress about the swim so I don't feel alone there. The race day weather looks perfect-72 degrees with no wind. Yea!! Feeling positive this AM. Had dinner with peeps above and their families last night before the pre-race meeting. Had a very relaxing day yesterday here at the Rose Lake Ranch. Even took a nap!
Today will be turning in my bike and transition gear. Then tomorrow off to the races!! I am psyched!

My Extra "One Thing" (well-two actually)

I have to make it to my rented Zipps:

And my new IMCDA shirt I bought:

Yes, I am motivated by pride. And H may kill me if I wasted $120 on the wheels...these little things always help.

Feeling relaxed and optomistic here 22 miles away from the hub-bub today..

Things are looking up!

I swam in this today:

Geekgirl, S.Baboo and I standing in line for registration:

H and I having a picnic lunch..

Imagine sticking your face in an ice cube and waiting until your face gets numb. That is what the water feels like. But I stuck it out for 1200 yds today and actually "got use to it" I guess or else became insane and numb.

We rode our bikes for 1:30 min on a fantastically beautiful trail that runs through CDA. very peaceful and relaxing..

Went to dinner with tons of blogger friends tonite where we waited patiently for our dinner and chatted with new friends.

Day off tomorrow! I am registered and have all my stuff. The training is over, I am done. It is all over but the finish..

One word-COLD!!!

H, Maria "gog-go" , Mark and Misty:

This is our lovely abode:

This is H on the internet in our one hot spot:

Scene from our house. Our own private lake..

More house pics. Bed unmade-what can I say?

The water yesterday in CDA was so cold I am freaking out. Hoepfully today's swim will bring better thoughts and attitude. All for now...

We are here!

Hey guess what? We are here at the Paradise Lodge, er uhm, our CDA rental house where the sun comes up at 4:30 AM. This is annoying when the sun comes in your room at that hour saying Wake up! It is morning! however, will be great on race day. Below are some of our Outlaw roomies, S.Baboo: and Geekgirl:
getting ready for their morning run.

The house is fantastic. Very quiet and serene but the only Internet connection we have is one tiny space out on the deck near the hot tub. Now I know you feel sorry for me on that but sometimes we just have to suffer to blog.

Will be heading the 22 miles in to CDA this AM to meet our roomies for a dip in the ever so warming trended Lake CDA. Report to follow..

H & I biked 20 miles on part of the bike course yesterday-I guess the easy part. Geekgirl and S. Baboo gave us the lowdown on how sucky and hilly the rest is. I am tempted not to drive the course and choose to be surprised! But alas I am sure my compulsive nature will set in sometime later today..Right now I am relaxed in paradise...

Sad ending to the story..

The two young men that were lost on the mountain in Wolf Creek, friends of my daughters from high school, were found:

What a nightmare for any parent, no matter how old the child. I remember Michael as a teenager as fun, respectful and a good person. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I will remember Michael and Kyle when I race on Sunday..

This is what we saw:

These are our new friends (the one on the right is yes, a bear):

On Our Way...

Time: 11:00 AM

Place: Cheyenne, Wyoming

Event: Trip to "Cordy Lane"

Highlights: We walked out the back door of our hotel this morning onto a running/bike trail that surrounds the city. How lucky is that? So off we went to take a 6 mile run under the sunny skies of Wyoming. The city is small, the state capital and beautiful. “Wide Open Spaces” comes to mind .

It is Father's Day and here is the best father I know. He heard from all his girls today, daughters and grand-daughters (and son-in-laws). They are very lucky kids to have such a dad.

We are on the road to our next destination hoping to meet up with Geekgirl & S. Baboo for dinner at the “Outlaws” restaurant in Gardiner, Montana-just north of Yellowstone Park.
I felt like a rock star running this AM. So much energy!
This AM Geekgirl gave me the bad news on the weather prediction for race day.
“Showers” in the forecast. I refuse to accept that weather report until it happens..

9:15 P.M. We have driven all through the state of Wyoming, half of Montana, saw spectacular scenery, were able to meet up with Geekgirl and S.Baboo for dinner at a juncture where they were leaving Yellowstone park and we were headed down there. Was great to see them after all these hundreds of miles without a familiar face..Now we are on the road to our B&B home for the next two days and nites. It is still light and it is almost 9;30 at night! This is good news-I may finish the race in daylight! Now the weather is saying "thundershowers" on race day. Oh why even bother to look? What will be,will be.
Oh and the best news-the water temp is all the way up to 55 degrees-certainly doable now!
