We are home and Machu Picchu is beautiful!

This is short and sweet-more detail later. We got home today after a 24 hour trip home and I am exhausted!

Briefly:

Pros: Beautiful mountains, trek, scenery to MP.
MP is really so awesome-is almost unreal.
The friends we went with (there were 9 of us) were fun, we all had such a blast hiking and camping-most of us have traveled many times in the past together.
The company we used (llama path) was fantastic-guide great.
Weather good sunny until the last day or so some rain.

Cons: Cold weather camping sucks!
Hartley had the 24 hour food reaction thing, as did everyone else at one time or another. Thank god for Cipro.
I, on the other hand got bronchitis or something like it during the whole time and had to try and communicate "strong antibiotic" and "very strong cough syrup" in Spanish. Not sure what I ended up taking-am still on the mend. I may go and see my Dr. in the AM to see what the heck i have been ingesting for treatment.
Hike was much harder than expected. Could have been because of
a. altitude or b. sickness.

All in all it was worth it-we are home safe-more tomorrow...

I'm glad you're home safe and that you had a great time! Can't wait to see lots of photos (?). We need to talk about the aid station contest at Elephant Butte ;-)

Gald to hear you made it back without encountering any falling rocks, huricanes or posion darts!

Glad you had fun. Cold weather camping DOES suck! But its worse if it rains too.

This looks fabulous! If we ever do a trip like this I'm going to pick your brain for info. I can't wait to hear more details about it.
